One of the
private excursions you can do from Santo Domingo, Boca Chica, Juan Dolio and
Bayahibe with up to four people:
We drive
to the market town in San Pedro the Macoris. There we will visit all fruits,

live chickens, turkeys etc.

Beside many other item, they produce the famous Balmoral cigars.
You can experience all kinds of production processes of those cigars. There are
200 different handlings to make a cigar. One can see how cigars are made,
automated and handmade. You get a detailed private explanation from me.
Afterwards we drive towards MARAVILLAS to the stalactite caves. They have
walking path in all kinds of costing about 21 millions Pesos. You see the
Stalactite and Stalagmite and hundreds of partition peeling ring of
Taino-indians. A guide goes along and explains everything professionally in the
language of your choice.
Afterwards
we have lunch in Bayahibe at restaurant Punta. If You want You can eat grilled
crayfish. In the restaurant You have a splendid sea view. If You like low
budget, I can transfer you at the hotel for the afternoon in Bayahibe, if You
stay there and l picks You up after lunch.
 Next we
drive to Altos de Chavon. Altos de Chavon is a copy of a small town from 16th
century from South Europe. They have an amphitheatre, opened by Frank Sinatra.

What is today the Panteon Nacional or National Mausoleum, was the last

lateral chapels.

buried, including Juan Pablo Duarte , Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and Ramón
Matías Mella. An "eternal flame" is kept lit in memory of the patriots and
floral offerings are common during commemorative dates. February 27th is when
Independence from Haiti is celebrated.

 Island Saona with Speedboat and Catamaran

After an hour's drive toward the east, you arrive at the artsy town of "Altos de
Chavon". After
a tour of the local area, speedboats will take you down the river. You stop on a sandbank and can
enjoy the Caribbean with Cuba-Libre. Next you continue on to island of Saona to enjoy white beaches

This trip takes east to San Pedro de Marcois where you will head north through large sugarcane plantations and
orange, cacao, and coffee fields. In about two hours you arrive at Sabana de la Mar, where you board a boat that will carry you through magnificent mangroves. You will visit the caves once inhabited by
Tainos. This natural reserve, unique in the Caribbean, has to be seen by all visitors
who are interested in the history, the flora and especially in the natural beauty of this
region.
